Biography

To characterize one’s self
“Landscapes of the Artist”
“Trybuna Robotnicza” Aug. 28-30 1981 (excerpt)

A black canvas-and there in that colorful darkness (far away from techno-color) is painted a sensual feminine white (as if it was totally innocent) body shape was formed-unfortunately by TIME

adjacent, at the studio of Ludwik Poniewiera sits another painting on the easel: the simplicity of the intentions (many of those hardships were concealed) of the artist becomes apparent-the grace of the lines FEMININITY

and immediately after that-with all my sensory and penetrative analysis-my view of the next painting is turned off, which the artist nearly thrusts in front of me

and probably at that point I begin to understand that the division between the austere and ascetic lines of contour and created (contrary to our aesthetic habits) cuts and artistic forms accomplished in construction could deprive us happiness which carries the approval of LIFE-

no, I thought to myself at that time, this is only a warning before the simple susceptibility to premature classifications, nothing as a matter of fact, no defined-no determinate intellect-and just then-in self-criticisms apprehension itself.

I started to understand that Ludwik Poniewiera is not an ascetic landscaper (division, lines, planes smashed into our increasingly nostalgic planes of consciousness)-NO, this is simply an artist of our difficult times, in which grace is weary of this everlasting topic (FEMALE, SEX, PASSION) resembling a generation of grace HOPE, that hardship of all our DOUBTS is not futile…
